Berry Plastics Corp to close Vancouver plant

first_imgBerry Plastics Corp. will close its Vancouver manufacturing plant in January, laying off 39 employees, the company said Tuesday.The company “will work diligently” to assist employees who are interested in employment at other Berry locations “or within the local labor market,” it said in a statement.The Vancouver facility produces specialized plastic film and sheeting.The Evansville, Ind.-based company, a maker of injection-molded plastic packaging and other plastics, said it’s closing the Vancouver plant to streamline operations in an uncertain economy.Vancouver operations will be transferred to Berry facilities in Wisconsin, Indiana and Georgia. The company said it announced on Nov. 3 that it would close the Vancouver plant “on or about” Jan. 3.last_img
