The summer season has been rather good for tourism in France, where it showed an overall increase in tourist numbers. The amount of visitors arriving in the country is expected to be no less than that of summer 2014. Though, the data also indicated that more and more domestic travellers are exploring their homeland. As per the first wave of a cyclical survey, conducted by the Tourism Offices of France, Rn2D, ANMSM and Atout France, the number of French tourists travelling around their home country is likely to increase during the summer of 2015, along with the number of foreign visitors. The survey noted a “good general dynamic” for the start of the season between April 15 and June 15, 2015. It is “particularly characterised by the French clientele”.The tourist numbers are usually higher than that of the same period last year, particularly on Brittany’s, Norman’s and Northerner’s coasts and in many provincial cities, as well as the whole of the South East, where the service providers reported an increase in the amount of bookings.Travellers from Britain remained the principal group among all the international tourists coming to France. They are followed by the Belgians, the Dutch, the Germans and the Italians. Other visitors such as the Russians, the Canadians, the Chinese and the Japanese are on the rise as well.
