first_imgAdditional funding of €3 million for the Town and Village Renewal Scheme has been secured in Budget 2018.Last week Donegal Daily reported that thirteen Donegal projects have secured funding of €1.15 million, which will fund digital hubs in Kilcar, Carrigart/Downings and on Arranmore Island as well as enhancement schemes in Newtowncunningham, Falcarragh, Convoy, Ballyliffin, Burtonport, Churchill, Dunkineely, Mountcharles, Rathmullan and St Johnston.The funding granted to Donegal was the third highest in the country, from a total pot of €21.6 million. Minister for Rural and Community Development Michael Ring secured the extra €3 million in the Budget.Communities are now being urged to begin their plans for 2018.Minister Joe McHugh TD says: “I want to pay tribute to the many many volunteers across Donegal whose hard work has been recognised in the recent funding. And there are many more volunteers in many other areas who will benefit next year.
